Regulations require a continuing review of research at a frequency of at least once per year.The Board will determine the frequency of continuing review during the initial review of the protocol, which may be less than a year depending on the risk level of the study. The eProtocol system will generate automatic email reminders to sites of the pending review dates. Continuing Review forms will be completed directly in the eProtocol system. Any sites who allow the approval to expire will have to discontinue research at the site until a reapproval is obtained. There is no grace period for approval expirations.
